Locdown
Locdown is a cutting edge project providing exciting opportunities for positive expression through music.
The Locdown project explores keys themes such as addiction, peer pressure, discrimination and trust with young offenders through a series of interactive workshops. Lyrics are developed around these themes and tracks are produced.
The Locdown course is delivered in 5 to 10 days to young offenders.
Throughout the course participants create a work folder to be accredited by Chrysalis. Each young offender that completes the course gains a recognised ‘key skills’ qualification.
Locdown Records is a record label through which Locdown project participants are able to release the music made on the course.
Locdown also run a website containing a forum where young people can discuss issues, share music and ask advice.
